Curriculum Intent
At Parsonage Farm we believe that creativity, exploration and freedom of expression are a vital part of childhood development. We encourage children to explore their emotions and express themselves freely through art, developing their cultural, spiritual and moral understanding in a safe and inspirational setting. At Parsonage we value perseverance and hard work; we support children to take risks and challenge themselves, without fear of making mistakes. We believe that our art curriculum provides children with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to create their own works of art and respond to the work of others. We believe our art lessons equip pupils with the ability and confidence to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas in a respectful way, understanding that what one person views as unattractive, another may view as beautiful and our opinions and perceptions are constantly changing – and that’s what makes art great!
