PE & Sports

Curriculum Intent

At PFPS we aim to inspire and engage all pupils through a high-quality Physical Education curriculum that fosters a lifelong love of physical activity. We provide all pupils with the knowledge and skills to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness, ensuring they have the chance to take ownership of their own physical well-being and make informed, healthy choices. We recognise that the benefits of being active play a crucial part in children's physical, emotional and mental well-being, and we actively promote positive attitudes towards movement, teamwork and resilience. Through inclusive, challenging and enjoyable experiences, pupils are encouraged to develop competence, cooperation and determination, embedding positive health behaviours into their lifestyle both now and in the future. We also teach pupils to cope positively with both success and failure, developing resilience, sportsmanship and the confidence to learn from every experience. In line with our school values of Where children are valued and success is recognised, we celebrate individual achievement, personal progress and sporting success, ensuring every child feels supported, respected and proud of their accomplishments.

We also offer a variety of clubs and PE lessons that keep children engaged, active, and smiling. Whether it’s learning new skills, working as a team, or simply having fun, sport plays an important role in our school life.
