Computing

Curriculum Intent

Our intent for Computing at Parsonage Farm is to deliver a progressive curriculum that builds on prior knowledge, ensuring pupils develop secure foundations and deepen their understanding over time. We aim to equip children with the skills, confidence and resilience needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Through the teaching of computational thinking and problem solving, pupils learn to analyse, create, debug and refine programs, encouraging logical reasoning and creativity. Digital literacy is at the heart of our curriculum, enabling children to use technology purposefully, safely and responsibly. Online safety is embedded in a cross-curricular manner, ensuring pupils understand how to protect themselves, recognise risk, and seek support from trusted adults when needed. We also develop awareness of artificial intelligence, helping children understand its uses, benefits and potential risks in age-appropriate ways. To further strengthen our provision, we nurture more-able pupils as Digital Leaders, providing additional training and opportunities to contribute to school life by supporting peers and promoting safe, responsible technology use across the school community.
