Curriculum Intent
At Parsonage, we strive to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the design, make, and evaluate process, fostering creativity and innovation. We aim to equip students with the practical skills necessary to create functional products that address real-world needs, while also instilling an appreciation for the contributions of past and current inventors to society and technology. We encourage children to take risks in their learning and use problem solving to find practical solutions. We explore many different areas of Design Technology including; textiles, digital design, cutting, joining, health and safety, product research and cookery. By integrating knowledge of healthy foods and nutrition, we promote overall well-being and encourage cross-curricular links with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. These areas instil a lifelong love of learning and a deep curiosity about their environment.
